The smoking habit can be very harmful for the health, principally for the oral cavitity and at the same time provokes cancer in all levels, including oral cancer.

Smoking is more than likely that can cause oral cancer, periodontal disease and periimplant, melanic pigmentation, incidence of caries and halitosis.

We can contribute to good oral health and to achieve better results on dental treatments having cure of hygiene and quitting smoking.

There are specific drugs to help patients quit smoking.

When a patient has decided to stop smoking, the doctor has to accompany him/her in his/her decision and the process, it is important to do a face or telephone follow-up during the days after the appointment, it is adviseable to do it after one week, or the lastest,  one month.
