Invisalign®
What is Invisalign?
Also called invisible orthodontics. It is orthodontics with transparent aligners.
It is suitable for children from 6 years (Invisalign® First), adolescents (Invisalign® Teen) and adults (i7, Lite and Comprehensive).
These are very thin and practically imperceptible state-of-the-art aligners. They are very easy to put on and take off and hardly disturb.
With Invisalign we can treat from the mildest to the most severe cases without problem.
A 3D scan of your teeth is performed without the need for the typical cumbersome impression pastes that were used before.
After a few days, an Invisalign® technician sends us the 3D simulation of how the patient’s teeth will look.
After a few modifications by the orthodontist, the order to manufacture the splints is sent and in a couple of weeks we receive all the Invisalign splints at the clinic.
On certain occasions, attachments that are small transparent reliefs of a material called composite must be placed in order for the treatment to be more effective.
Advantages of Invisalign®
The main advantage of Invisalign®, apart from being invisible, compared to conventional orthodontics is that you may have to remove them for eating or in meetings. We advise taking them a minimum of 9pm a day.
You can eat with total freedom without watching with the toughest foods since you do not have anything in your mouth that could bother you or could spoil.
Of course, with them you can only drink water. Coffee or herbal teas can dye them slightly.
Another advantage is that if you have a commitment in which you do not want people to see that you are wearing orthodontics such as a wedding or baptism, you can do without the aligners for a few hours without affecting the treatment.
The aligners are usually changed every 10-15 days for new ones and must be used an average of 21 hours a day.
