What are facial implants?
If what you are looking for is a definitive increase as well as reversible of an area of the face, such as cheekbones, jaw angle or facial implants are the ideal option. They are definitive, because unlike infiltrated fillings that are reabsorbed, implants remain stable. And they are reversible, because if for whatever one day you change your mind, they can be withdrawn.
The areas to be treated with facial implants are the contour of the jaw, angle of the jaw, cheekbones, neighboring areas of the nose (paranasal), and forehead.
Types of facial implants
We classify them into silicone implants or PEEK implants.
Silicone implants
They are prefabricated and can be shaped to adapt them to the size and anatomy of each patient. They are placed just above the bone, below the muscles, and are secured with microscrews so that they remain immobile. Its placement is done through small incisions inside the mouth. The effect is immediate and recovery from inflammation is fast: 2 or 3 days.
PEEK implants.
It is a biocompatible resin that is made to measure for each patient based on the patient’s scanner, and the volume we want to increase. Therefore, they are the most precise and anatomical option that we can offer you today. Through a photographic simulation process, we see the volume of the area to be increased. This volume is transferred to the patient’s CT or facial scanner, and the patient’s personalized implant is 3D printed. They are placed just above the bone, below the muscles, and are secured with microscrews so that they remain immobile. Its placement is done through small incisions inside the mouth. The effect is immediate and recovery from inflammation is fast: 2 or 3 days.
