There are two types of drooping eyelid surgery. The first is lower eyelid surgery. Once this area is reached, the bags are removed one by one and the operation is completed by placing a stitch on the conjunctiva or leaving it unsaturated.
Another technique that is also carried out is the transposition of the fat pads, moving them towards the area of the ears and blurring the junction of the eyelid and cheek. When there is excess skin, we pinch it and remove that excess skin. At the same time we tightened the lower eyelid with a cantopexy, to avoid a drooping eyelid.
Secondly, there is upper blepharoplasty. The surgeon draws the excess skin and makes the incision at the limit of the natural crease of the upper eyelid, where the scar will be hidden so that it is not visible. The excess skin will be removed to better locate the fat pads and ressect the amount required by the patient. The skin is closed again, suturing small internal stitches. Thin plasters are applied to protect the scar and, four to seven days later, the stitches are removed.
