What is the Lower Hybrid Prosthesis and what types are there?
There are different types of implant-supported hybrid prostheses. Depending on the materials used, they are divided into: metal-acrylic hybrid prosthesis (covered with acrylic), metal-ceramic (covered with feldspathic ceramic), zirconium-ceramic (the metal core is replaced by zirconium) and Peek (a thermoplastic polymer of high biocompatibility with high resistance and light properties). What happens if I remove the lower hybrid prosthesis to sleep?
Hybrid prostheses are fixed, the patient cannot remove them at home, there are prostheses called over dentures which are like the hybrids, made of the same materials, but the patient can remove them at home, they are supported by 2-3 or 4 implants, preferably in the lower jaw and are more economical.
What is the best maintenance for the lower dental hybrid prosthesis?
