It is an effective method, but it takes time, as the patient sometimes has to spend about a year in treatment before being able to enjoy the new prosthesis on implants. Typically bone reconstruction of the maxilla requires a first surgical approach for bone reconstruction, then a healing period of 6 months, then implant placement, around three months for dental implant osseointegration, and then prosthesis impressions, and placement. Total time between 9 and 12 months.
But then came the zygomatic implants, a great evolution that allows two to four long implants to be placed in the anterior area of the jaw, for those patients who because they do not have bone, cannot have conventional dental implants. With this placement, it is possible to recover the ability to chew and to obtain greater aesthetics in 24h.
